OGUN SPEAKER WHO WAS IMPEACHED IS CHARGED WITH N2.5B FRAUD.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) presented Mr. Oluomo and the other two to the court on charges of embezzlement of N2.5 billion in public funds.

Olakunle Oluomo, the impeached Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, was charged before a Federal High Court in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, on Monday.

Before Justice O.O. Okeke, the former Speaker was docked together with Dayo Samuel and Adeyemo Adedeji, two other career state Assembly officers.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), alleging N2.5 billion in embezzlement of public monies, filed a lawsuit against Mr. Oluomo and the other two.

It is said that Mr. Oluomo perpetrated the scam in 2022 while holding the position of Speaker of the Assembly.

Remember that charges of haughtiness, egregious misbehavior, conceit, bad leadership, lack of focus and transparency, and inciting members against one another were recently signed by 18 out of 26 MPs.

But the EFCC's attorney wasn't there when the three of them arrived at the dock, the court found out.

The matter was then postponed by the court until February 29 and March 1.
