BREAKING: POLICE USED TEAR GAS ON 16 LAWMAKERS FROM THE PLATEAU PDP.

The 16 PDP members of the Plateau State House of Assembly who were fired by the Court of Appeal were subjected to tear gas on Tuesday by armed police officers.

When the event occurred on Tuesday morning, the MPs and their supporters had converged at the Rayfield Old Government House in Jos in preparation for the plenary to resume.

The Government House was overrun by police and other security personnel, who forbade the dismissed MPs from entering the House of Assembly's chambers. However, the lawmakers had promised not to leave the building.

Details to follow.
