She claims that after her husband suggested moving the family to Canada and recommended a travel agency to help with immigration procedures, the marital conflict started.
Sunday Asefon Adedayo's wife, who serves as President Bola Tinubu's Senior Special Assistant on Student Engagements, has made startling claims that her husband has harassed her, abandoned his family for three years, and threatened her safety through student union loyalists.
Mrs. Asefon expressed her worry for her life in an interview with SaharaReporters on Tuesday. She said that her husband may hurt her and that nothing would happen because of his political influence and the involvement of his "dangerous" pals.
She described her experience, stating that she and Asefon had dated for seven years prior to their eleven-year marriage.
"We dated for seven years prior to our eleven-year marriage. I've known him for eighteen years in all. I am officially married to him, and we have two kids together," she stated.

In the process, he expressed his desire to move me and our kids to Canada. I was introduced to a travel agent by him. On my first try, I received a score of 6.5 on the IELTS exam.

"I was unaware that he was covertly seeing the travel agent. My husband then started acting inappropriately and making false accusations of infidelity against me. She claimed that he eventually began posing as the travel agent's new spouse.
Mrs. Asefon claimed that people close to her husband, especially leaders of the student union, were harassing her in a concerted manner.
The current NASS South-West Zonal Coordinator, Owolewa Taiwo, and a man known only as Sikiru, who was allegedly her husband's chief of staff, were named by her as important players in the threats she received.

Later, I received a call from another odd number. The caller ID was concealed by the woman. She started swearing at me, my kids, and even my mom. She identified herself as a member of the Ashefon family. No one from that family would call to disparage me or my kids, I assured her.
"She called me once more and kept swearing at me. I didn't respond to her. I reported the issue to the State CID. They tracked her when I gave them the number.
"She said she had never met me before and didn't even know my name when she was invited to the State CID. She admitted that she received ₦20,000 from Chief of Staff Sikiru to intimidate me and disparage my kids.
